Last night I had the opportunity to go listen to Watoto, which is an African Childrens Choir. They travel around the US and sing to raise support for their organization, which gives homes to orphaned children in Africa. Like Compassion International, which I've talked about before, people can choose to sponsor a specific child, and also can write letters and keep in contact with them. One of my friends that I went to the event with is the sponsor for one of the young boys in the choir. It was inspiring to listen afterward as Tyler, my friend, talked to a child with a name I could neither spell or pronounce about his life, and traveling to sing, and other things. I love being able to see the difference that Tyler had made in this boy's life, and it made me really want to go meet Clara in person.
I guess when you work effectively, you really can make a noticeable difference.
