Being Efficient
I did some looking into regarding the effectiveness of homemade Smart Water, and decided that I do not drink enough of the smart water to make it cost and time effective. Also, I'm heading home for the weekend later today, and am going to find my old Nalgene bottle, from when I played soccer in middle and high school, so that I can carry that around with me, rather than refilling the Smart Water bottles, since they are much harder to clean. So, I guess I won't have too much of a problem with the reusable water bottle idea I had earlier.

Somewhat Successful
So far, I have been fairly successful in my attempts. I had one minor mishap on Saturday, where I went to Publix without my reusable bags. Ordinarily, I do all my shopping for the week on Sundays. However, Sunday was the Super Bowl, and so I had to make some adjustments, and in my adjustments, I forgot my bags. However, it was a light shopping week, as many things had been on sale the week before, so I already had much of what I needed for cooking for the week.
Along with the topic of cooking for the week, I have done better than usual in eating at home. This past week I was keeping track of my trash usage, and it helped me monitor more closely my exact trash amount. I ate a total of 16 of the 21 weekly meals at home, which is a very large improvement (for me anyways) from my previous average of roughly 13.
Since my number of meals eating out has dropped, the ease in drinking water at restaurants those few times has helpful in saving money to send to Compassion International. I have not received any recent updates from Clara, but I'm sure the continued support has helped greatly.
I also am still working through my current supply of SmartWater, and have not had the chance to experiment with the recipe. I have also had the thought recently about whether or not it is efficient for me to make homemade "SmartWater" when I do not consume enough of it, and I can buy liters of it for $1 a piece. So, I will have to do research to decide that. But, in the mean time, I have been making sure that I re-use the plastic bottles, and then recycle them when I am eventually finished with them.
